Updating the Entry Phase 2

It was a busy weekend, but I did get a few things done around the house, including redoing my first piece of furniture EVER! It's a very small table just painted black, but I love how it turned out.

This little table was bought at a furniture resale shop a few years ago for about $20. I was using it as a nightstand in a guest bedroom but the cherry finish always bugged me. It was a little too bright.

Since the weather was finally nice this weekend, I took the piece outside and started sanding. I used fine sand paper, which was enough since this antique table's finish was already pretty worn.

I used left over black paint from my recent front door makeover and did two coats.

It fits in the little spot next to our front door perfectly.

Now, I just need to find a new rug and figure out what to hang above the cute little table. The best part is this was totally free. My mom bought the table a couple years ago and gave it to me when she no longer had a space for it and the paint (as mentioned above) was left over.

Anyone else tackle any projects this past weekend?

  1. I love refinishing furniture! Actually not really but I love the way it looks after and it's well worth all the hard work! Your entry way looks gorgeous and I love the way you hung the curtain rod all the way across the door and just put the panels over the smaller windows! That is darling and I have never seen it done before!

  2. I think your entryway looks adorable. I have never painted furniture but you have made it look pretty easy! I would love to paint our kitchen table and chairs black one day.

  3. It looks great, and it is perfect in your space!
